Portraits at Thunder Boy Studios are created through a guided Portrait Experience designed to produce imagery that is cinematic, expressive, and visually distinctive.
Rather than simply showing up and taking photos, each session is carefully planned to reflect the person in front of the camera — their story, their presence, and the feeling they want their images to communicate.
The result is portrait photography that feels intentional and refined: images that could belong in a publication, a campaign, a personal brand, or as artwork for your home.
The Portrait Experience
Every portrait session begins with a consultation where we discuss the vision for your images.
This planning stage is one of the defining features of my work. Together we explore the ideas, mood, and visual direction that will shape your portraits.
This may include:
• concept and creative direction
• visual references and mood boards
• wardrobe and colour harmony planning
• lighting design and mood development
• location or studio considerations
By the time the camera comes out, we already have a clear creative direction for the shoot.
You do not need modelling experience. I guide the entire process so you can focus on being present while I shape the lighting, composition, and visual narrative.

How It Works
1 — Consultation
We discuss your goals, visual references, and the mood you want your portraits to convey.
2 — Portrait Experience
Your session is photographed with guided direction, cinematic lighting, and intentional styling.
3 — Image Reveal
You review your portraits and select the collection that best fits how you want to use and display them.
1) Portrait Experience Fee - $250
The Portrait Experience fee covers the creative work involved in planning and producing your session.
This includes:
• consultation and creative planning
• concept development and mood boards
• colour harmony and wardrobe guidance
• guided photoshoot
• professional image editing
• reveal appointment to select your final images

Keepsake Collection I — $250
A curated selection of your strongest portraits, ideal for clients who want a small set of polished images while still experiencing the creative lighting and styling of the Portrait Experience.
This collection is perfect for headshots, personal portraits, or anyone wanting a few standout images from their session.
Includes
• 6 fully retouched digital images
• two 8×10 prints
• two 5×7 gift prints
